Our Story
LALA'S started in a small kitchen in Lekki Phase 1 with one banana bread recipe, a second-hand oven, and a habit of giving away too many slices to neighbours. They kept asking for more, then asking to pay for it, and that was that.
We still bake the way we did in that first kitchen — in small batches, usually no more than a dozen loaves and a handful of cakes a day, because that's about as many as we can get exactly right. Every order is made to go out the same week it's placed, never pulled from a freezer.
"If a cake needs two days to set properly, it gets two days. We're not going to rush a red velvet for anyone."— Lala, Founder
Today it's a team of five working out of one kitchen — three bakers, one person who does nothing but frosting, and Lala, who still tastes every batch before it leaves the building.
The Loaf Shelf
Ripe Banana, Vanilla
Ripe bananas, real butter, and not much else competing for attention. The one most people grew up on.
Banana, Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate chips folded through a moist banana crumb. This is usually the first one to sell out.
Banana, Hazelnut, Cocoa
A glossy hazelnut-cocoa swirl runs through every slice, with a little extra drizzled on top.
Banana, Toasted Walnut
Toasted walnuts add depth and a quiet crunch — a good one if you don't want it too sweet.
Banana, Cinnamon Sugar
Warm cinnamon sugar woven through a tender crumb, finished with a dusting of icing sugar.
Banana, Salted Caramel
Finished with a slow pour of buttery salted caramel. The richest one on the shelf, by a fair margin.
The Cake Stand
Tahitian Vanilla Bean
Three tender layers of vanilla bean sponge, kissed with silken buttercream. Simple, but the one people always go back for seconds of.
Belgian Dark Chocolate
Deep, fudgy chocolate layers under a glossy ganache veil. Rich enough that a small slice is genuinely enough.
Cocoa, Cream Cheese
Soft cocoa-red layers under a generous coat of cream cheese frosting. Our most-ordered cake, most weeks.
Marble of Both
A marble of dark chocolate and vanilla, layered side by side so nobody at the table has to choose.
Velvet Meets Chocolate
Alternating layers of red velvet and dark chocolate, both finished under the same cream cheese frosting.

Word of Mouth
I ordered the red velvet for my daughter's naming ceremony and almost didn't bring any home for us. Everyone kept going back for "one more slice."
We order the chocolate chip banana bread for the office most Fridays. At this point if it arrives late, people actually notice.
Ordering on WhatsApp was so easy. I sent a message, got a price back within minutes, and the cake was ready exactly when they said it would be.
Got the cookie box for my son's birthday. The salted caramel ones didn't make it to the party — the driver said it was "quality control."

We post when trays come out of the oven, when new flavours are being tested, and occasionally when something doesn't go to plan.
A few details so we know who this is for, then we'll open WhatsApp with your order filled in.
